This 450 l aquarium is an authentic biotope of the lakes shore on Nicaragua’s Pacific coast (in the left corner of the aquarium corner is the edge of the lake). The bottom is beige sand and some gravel along the edge rocks. Very rarely any driftwood found in this habitat. There are some swamp plants like Echinodorus spp. (e.g. E. grandiflorus – here submers), which grows out of the water and is found normally along the lake or river edges, as well as Mayaca fluviatilis and some floating plants (e.g. Najas guadalupensis).
