Image For the Indaquaria 2010 Natasha Khardina and Heiko Bleher had been invited again after the great event in 2009 to give lectures, this time it took place from 8-10 January in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. For the Convention 530 vistors had been registered and almost everyone came, the hall was full, hardly any place on Earth so many people attend ornamental fish seminars.

Direktor Thomas, the director of MPEDA (The Marine Products Export Development Authority), here with Heiko Bleher at the entrance to the convention hall, had invited Heiko Bleher and Natasha Khardina to give presentations on two subjects regarding ornamental fishes of India. MPEDA had already invited both the previous year, which was also very well attended, and this time it was even bigger, as he had promised before. Below some photos of this unique event.

Unfortunately Natasha felt very sick (still not cured while I write this) and I gave her presentation New ornamental fishes from the North East Region and Western Ghats. His own talk was about The potential of native ornamental fishes in India & strategies to promote them to international markets. And he gave an additional talk on How to breed Puntius denisonii because Anna Mercy had given a talk earlier on this subject, after Heiko I had presented to her the method how to do it  in 2009, but she had not mentioned it, nor how to breed them…

There were over 500 seats occupied, probably more then at any other ornamental fish seminar before. Director Thomas gave a closing talk and confirmed that Heiko Bleher will bring out a unique book on Indian Ornamental Fishes, sponsored by MPEDA, which will help the rural and people around the country as well as all the ornamental fish world – for the first time in history the fishes of India can be appreciated in as never before. Ever speaker became a crystal fish-prize and  the Indaquaria closed with an amazing success, as never before and everyone who missed these great talks, will never know what he missed… See you all next Indaquaria 2011.

Thank you MPEDA for inviting us.
