The great Polish Club of Discus Lovers (the PKMD) hosted for the 2nd time their Discus Championships, after 2006, in Krakow.
Every two years Krakow becomes the capital of polish aquarists. The 2nd edition of Polish Championship of the Discus fish with many international participants took place during the ZOO-Festival. The date was set for June 5-8th 2008, in a beautiful exhibition hall of about 3000 m2 surface.

During this event all important zoological polish companies presented their leading articles, designed for aquarists, terrarists, birds lovers, dogs and cats, and TROPICAL, the world famous Polish Fish & Petfood company of Tadeusz Ogrodnik, has made a special sponsorship and invited, together with the PKMD, Heiko Bleher to hold two lectures and to judge discus.

The Polish Discus Championship prizes were announced with a typical polish folkdance in beautiful costums (on the wall the flags of the participating nations of the championships)…
…also very young children danced beautifully
Everyone of the 8 judges received a trophy, a signed photo and other presents, as well as diploma
Jeffrey Tan from Malaysia was one of the judges who received also a trophy
Tadeusz Ogrodnik, owner of the TROPICAL, was the main sponsor of the event and he also sponsored all the prize money
The Italian Giuseppe Paolino won the Grand Champion prize for Wilds

The trophies bases were made of granit stone from the Krakow area with a discus made of bronze, silver and gold on top
There were 171 discus’ to be judged
