From the top: a beautiful decorated Hemichromis bimaculatus biotope; almost perfect and very authentic Cichlasoma synspilum (now Vieja synspila) – the male immediately started to built a nest; and once finished he guided the female into his nest
The upper photos show a group of Lethrinops sp. swimming in an almost authentic river habitat (left the group, right an individual). Lethrinops are rarely kept in aquaria, although there are 18-19 beauties known and widely found throughout Lake Malawi. The two photos above show the very same specimen of Stigmatochromis pholidophorus and how he can change its colour in seconds

The two Microgeophagus ramirezi males (top) display their full rival colours in their almost perfect biotope display (above)
If one does the correct decoration – as in nature – the fishes feel immediately like “at home”, as these cichlids here. They grace on rocks as they do in their natural habitat
